Health Minister and Chinese Ambassador in Manafwa

The Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) with support from the Red Cross Society of China and The People’s Republic of China at large donated medical equipment to the local government of Manafwa District as part of a three year’s community Resilience project being implemented by URCS with funds from Red Cross Society China. Manafwa is one of the districts in Eastern Uganda that are affected by climate change and usually experiences landslides.

Items donated included; wheel chairs, operating beds, operating lights, mosquito nets, mosquito nets, an ambulance, first aid kits, among others. These were handed over to the mayor and other district officials under the witness of the State Minister for health, Hon. Christopher Baryomunsi who is also a member of Parliament sitting on the health committee.

In his speech, the guest of honour, Hon. Christopher Baryomunsi vowed to make sure that he and his colleagues continuously support the Red Cross Society in the work communities. He also thanked the People’s Republic of China Ambassador who attended the function for the great work done and requested him to continue proving support.
